Why I am voting Green

From the Green Party of Ontario’s website:

“The Green Party advocates a single publicly funded system. We will remove duplicate administrative, facility and transportation costs to create a truly open and equitable environment where children can learn together. The savings will help fund the greening of Ontario’s education—strengthening both our economic competitiveness and our social fabric. “

  1. Their position on school funding makes sense to me but their other platform position on global warming oops Climate Change leaves me cold. I think that there are much more pressing ecological concerns for Ontario than the possibility of a couple of degrees increase in temperature.
I am at a loss who to vote for in this election. Is there a none of the above party running?

  2. “I think that there are much more pressing ecological concerns for Ontario than the possibility of a couple of degrees increase in temperature. “

Now I’m curious. What do you see as a more pressing item for Ontario?

  3. The greens are really a one-trick show. They’re all about punishing everyone who has money with crippling taxes in order to return to a time when humans ran naked through the woods with flowers in their hair.

Unfortunately, since most of Ontario is essentially sub-arctic, the naked thing isn’t going to work well.

Issues more pressing than than a couple degrees are easy to imagine. For example, all the air, warm or cold, isn’t much good if you can’t BREATHE it.

Good, old-fashioned air pollution is more important than climate change. Education is more important than climate change… a cuddly climate populated by useless gits isn’t much use and probably won’t be kept very cuddly.

The economy can’t handle going “green” if there’s nothing realistic to replace the energy we lose going green. So sorting that out is more important in the short term than a couple degrees.

I could go on, but I think the point is made.
